Do not have Dysport treatment if you: are allergic to Dysport or any of its ingredients (see the end of the Medication Guide for a list of ingredients), are allergic to cow’s milk protein, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product, such as Myobloc®, Botox®, or Xeomin®, have a skin infection at the planned injection site, under 18 years of age, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
You may experience an abnormal facial change shortly after a procedure is performed. These are common side effects of Dysport® that are neither permanent nor serious.
It is very important to vet your injector as they are the ones who will recommend an amount of Dysport® that reduces movement enough to eliminate lines without freezing your muscles completely.
Aside from the needle injection, Botox injections are not especially painful. However, you may experience pain or swelling at the injection site, as well as a mild fever or dizziness, as a side effect. If a skin infection occurs, contact a medical professional.
Dysport® typically lasts for about four months. Result duration can vary from patient to patient as many variables like treatment location, muscle size and metabolism play a role in how long the results last.
Patients can extend the results of Dysport® by undergoing periodic maintenance treatment sessions with an experienced injector. After more than a year of undergoing Dysport® treatments, many patients can wait longer between sessions as it takes far less effort (dosage) for the targeted muscles to relax.
